Error when Confirming an adoption: "Missing External User" (Shelter Buddy)

  • This is an integration issue that happens whenever a pet is Approved after losing its integration sync with the Shelter Buddy.

  • As the External User or Person Identification (PID) is created in Shelter Buddy at the moment of Approval of adoption, if the pet isn't synced at the moment, Adopets won't be creating that user in Shelter Buddy.

  • The problem, in this case, goes beyond the Adoption Confirmation, though. As Adopets didn't create the PID in SB, it most likely didn't generate the adoption contract & medical records, which is also done at this approval moment.

Resolution:

  • For these cases, kindly chat or email (support@adopets.com) us. As this was most likely caused by a small integration glitch, which can be resolved from our end.

Error when Confirming an adoption: “Missing Approved application process” (Shelter Buddy)

  • This is an integration issue that happens when trying to Confirm an Adoption in Adopets, which also processes the outcome of the pet in Shelter Buddy.

  • Whenever that happens, Adopets sends crucial information to SB to process the outcome of the pet. And one of these things is the data regarding the staff member responsible for approving that adoption application in Adopets.

  • Then, the "Missing Approved application process" error happens when Adopets tries to send that information of who Approved the adoption to SB, but can't find it in the system.

Resolution:

  • For these cases, kindly chat or email (support@adopets.com) us. As we can be able to resolve this from our end with the help of our tech team.

Error when Confirming an adoption: “Primary and secondary species are not of the same class and type” (Shelter Buddy)

  • This is a Shelter Buddy issue that happens when trying to Confirm an Adoption in Adopets, which processes the outcome of the pet in Shelter Buddy.

  • Whenever there is this "Shelter Buddy Error" tag, it means something went wrong on SB's end, preventing Adopets to process the information.

  • In the case of this error, it says: "the primary and secondary species are not of the same class & type", which might not be indeed true. Sometimes SB can be a bit inconsistent with those validations.

Resolution:

  • For these cases, kindly chat or email (support@adopets.com) us. As we can be able to resolve this from our end as soon as you provide us the details.

Error when Confirming Adoption: Person with ID "xxxxx" does not exist. Error in Shelter Buddy executing request.

  • These errors happen whenever the shelter staff ends up merging the PID created by Adopets in Shelter Buddy with another existing one, before the Confirmation of the adoption in Adopets.

  • When the shelter staff merges the PIDs information into one in Shelter Buddy, Adopets loses track of the PID it originally created upon the adoption approval.

Note: We suggest to only merge your PID's information once the adoption has been confirmed, not to create errors in Adopets.
